ABOUT THE BOOK

A limited signed edition, beautifully illustrated and produced.
The perfect gift to yourself and to those you care for.

"To read this book, to turn the pages and be drawn into the images,to surrender to the pull of its narrative, is to experience what Louis MacNeice captures in a poem as:

World is suddener than we fancy it.

World is crazier and more of it than we think,

Incorrigibly plural".

Martin Drury at the launch of IRIA

Retaining the magic of a fairy tale and the beauty of well crafted art books, “Iria” is a story for all ages. It is a tale about the journey of a creature who inhabits ‘in-between’ worlds: water and earth, west and east, the written and the oral tradition, the real and the imaginary.

Moving through a misty water-world, richly decorated Venetian-like palaces, mysterious islands and ancient libraries, Iria is searching for the answer most people are looking for.

The story has been written and lavishly illustrated by Jole Bortoli. The capital letters have been inspired by Celtic Art, Italian Medieval Letters and Armenian Miniatures.
